Yngve Holen : Leichtmetallräder
Drawn to the spaces where humans and machines meet and exchange information, Holen’s work often uses the objects and technologies of corporate culture. CT scanners, aviation equipment, 3D printing and bisected vehicles have all featured in his recent work. For this exhibition he is showing a series of sculptures created by using a five-axis water-jet cutter to extract the center from the alloy of bespoke rims. Shorn of their utility, the resulting forms take on the appearance of decorative snowflakes adhered to the chalet’s facade—a sly comment on a culture of mass-produced individuality.
