ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
In 2014 Wakefield was hired by Playboy Magazine as Creative Director of Special Projects. Playboy A-Z featured a mix of essays, images, artwork, and pictorials by a diverse group of contributors, including British essayist A.A. Gill and cultural critic Camille Paglia; artists Richard Phillips and Richard Prince; authors Kelly Oxford and Christopher Ryan; and photographers Juergen Teller, Jim Krantz, Henrik Purienne, Jeff Burton and Hans Feurer as well as trans-gender model Inez Rau. In 2016 Wakefield was again appointed as Creative Director of Playboy Magazine to oversee the transition into a non-nude format.
