Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim : Falling Stones Garden

Mohammed Ahmed Ibrahim’s Falling Stones Garden reflects his fascination with the desolate, rocky terrain on the eastern shore of the United Arab Emirates where he grew up, but also recalls not only the earthy toils of a generation of land artists, with whom he shares a spiritual lineage, but also the environment he encountered in AlUla. Like that of Khorfakkan, it is one that appears at first glance to be bleached of incident and color.  Falling Stones Garden is a corrective vision for those whose tendency is to regard the desert environment through the monochrome lens of the blank canvas.
